W-PuTTY-CD is not more than PuTTY communication in a Microsoft Windows DLL shell,  so as it is obvious form its name, the W-PuTTY-CD Licence is composed of Two Sections, The "W" and the "CD" Licence, and the "PuTTY" Licence.

This means that you need to Understand, Agree and Accept ALL TERMS and CONDITIONS of the PuTTY license and the "W" and the "CD" license, in order to use W-PuTTY-CD

The "W" and the "CD" Licence

Only the "W" and the "CD" are Copyright  ©2008 Hany A. Ali, where "W" Stands for Windows and "CD" Stands for Communication Driver.  I used the communication part of the PuTTY source code to build a communication library for Windows (DLL) that can be used to utilize the communication protocols supported by PuTTY.  I’m using the "W" and the "CD" here to refer only to the modifications that I made to some files of PuTTY source code and the additional source code that I created for this purpose. All my modifications and source files are also distributed under the MIT Licence and inherit all the terms and conditions of the original PuTTY licence, as declared by Simon Tatham.  In particular, Simon Tatham remains the owner of PuTTY and I’m only the owner of my modifications (which I’m referring to by the "W" and the "CD", which encapsulates PuTTY) and all other Terms and Conditions of the PuTTY licence still applies.

The above copyright notice and the permission notice, inherited from the PuTTY licence, shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.

MY MODIFICATIONS AND SOURCE CODE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL  HANY A. ALI   BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Any entity (individuals or companies) can use my modifications and source files without restriction for commercial purposes or otherwise and owe nothing to me. Also, apart from having to maintain the copyright notice and the license text in derivative products (those of PuTTY and W-PuTTY-CD)  my “W” and the “CD” source code can be adapted into other programs and/or products, including commercial products, without owing anything to me or anybody else. These sources files are distributed with no warranty whatsoever, so if using it causes you any damage you're on your own.  Don't use it if you're not completely happy with the license terms and conditions.

Please note that the MIT licence is compatible with the GNU GPL. So if you want to incorporate W-PuTTY-CD or pieces of W-PuTTY-CD into a GPL program, you can freely do so.

The "PuTTY" Licence

The PuTTY executables and source code are distributed under the MIT licence, which is similar in effect to the BSD licence. (This licence is Open Source certified and complies with the Debian Free Software Guidelines.)

The precise licence text, as given in the About box and in the file LICENCE in the source distribution, is as follows:

PuTTY is copyright 1997-2008 Simon Tatham.

Portions copyright Robert de Bath, Joris van Rantwijk, Delian Delchev, Andreas Schultz, Jeroen Massar, Wez Furlong, Nicolas Barry, Justin Bradford, Ben Harris, Malcolm Smith, Ahmad Khalifa, Markus Kuhn, Colin Watson, and CORE SDI S.A.

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions:

The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL SIMON TATHAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

In particular, anybody (even companies) can use PuTTY without restriction (even for commercial purposes) and owe nothing to me or anybody else. Also, apart from having to maintain the copyright notice and the licence text in derivative products, anybody (even companies) can adapt the PuTTY source code into their own programs and products (even commercial products) and owe nothing to me or anybody else. And, of course, there is no warranty and if PuTTY causes you damage you're on your own, so don't use it if you're unhappy with that.

In particular, note that the MIT licence is compatible with the GNU GPL. So if you want to incorporate PuTTY or pieces of PuTTY into a GPL program, there's no problem with that.
